I’m Back - Brieftly
I couldn’t believe how long it had been when Iwent to my blog to show it to someone. Wow … too long!!!!
My husband and I have done several missions since April. I have also gone to Alabama to get my mother who is 88 to bring her to Indiana for a week while her caregiver went on Vacation. She is in a wheelchair for most everything. It had been 20 years since she was here last. She has some dementician and was disoriented for a bit, but has really enjoyed being here.
We are leaving early in the morning to take her back home and we will return to our home on Saturday. I will try to post again next week after I return.

It is nice to hear that some people actually do still care for their parents. When I visit my grandmother all of the people on her floor chat with me because very few of them actually see members of their own families any more. It is just sad.
I wish your mother well and how your trip is uneventful.

You might have noticed that the Photo-A-Day images from The BenSpark have not been showing up for a week now. Something happened to the feed coming from Buzznet. I have been very disappointed in their performance and in an effort to fix the problem as well as cut down the work I do each night to make sure the images get out to everyone I have made a switch to Flickr to deliver the Photo-A-Day images. I have new code on The BenSpark (http://www.benspark.com/photo-a-day) that you can use to update the widget. This should prevent any need to update the code again. I apologize for the lack of images lately and I thank you for hosting Photo-A-Day on your Blog.

It´s so nice that she got to visit after 20 years.. it must have been strange for her though. At least she is well enough to travel, that´s the main thing. At that age not a lot of people are able or want to travel anywhere. Anyway, I know it was a long time ago now, but I hope you enjoyed the time with her. Frank

I’m new to your site. From the posts it looks like a good one to keep in my favorites. Dementia is a tough illness for a family member to have. My mom has it. You just have to keep loving them through all of the phases as challenging and painful as it can be. Remembering that once they are in heaven they’ll be whole again has helped me on more than one occasion.
