Eye Surgery Went Great

Well, I had my second laser eye surgery yesterday and oh my goodness, how great it is to see again.   I had cataract’s removed from both eyes about a year and a half ago and the covering over the implants clouded over and I was almost blind and couldn’t see, so had that taken care of last week and this week.  We don’t appreciate our eye site untill it goes bad on us.  I couldn’t believe all the brightness of the colors again.

Glad your surgery went well. my Mom had that surgery this year also.
I’m tagging you for a fun, quick easy meme, it’s at the link for my website. Hope to see you there!

I had laser eye surgery on 6/30/07. The best thing I ever did, but man was I scared. The following day was amazing as I saw things so clearly. I’m glad to hear yours went well.

Congrats on the successful eye surgery.
I have been thinking about getting Lasik, so I don’t need to wear glasses or contacts anymore. I’m a little worried about the possibility of them screwing up and blinding me though - even though there is the remotest of chance of that happening, it would be devastating.

    Congratulations on your succesful surgery.
I would be very grateful if you could let me know how you feel about the results of your laser eye surgery one year later.
    Many thanks

It’s great to read when someone has successful eye surgery. Especially when you had such problems with your eyes prior to the surgery. I’m really glad for you that it went so well. I agree with Dominic, a follow up post to document how things are 18 months later would be a great idea.

It is important to know what to reasonably expect from PRK and LASIK vision correction. If you expect to lose dependence on vision correction devices such as contacts or glasses and don’t expect 20/20 vision, you may be pleasantly surprised. There is no way to predict the outcome exactly, but most people achieve vision of 20/20. Think of 20/20 vision as a very pleasant side effect, which happens most of the time. You may reasonably expect to be able to operate a motor vehicle without correction, wake up and see your alarm clock, get in and out of the shower, go to the movies, all without need for contacts or eyeglasses. It is possible that you may want the vision a little sharper and may use a very thin prescription for night driving or tweaking the vision to 20/20, but go without glasses and contacts most of the time. Refer to DATASITE web link for statistics on visual outcomes. There have been instances where people have regressed to their original prescription and, although uncommon, this is a possible outcome. Fortunately, you have the option of an enhancement if medically feasable, you can wear contacts or glasses after PRK and LASIK

Congratulations on your surgery. It is true that we often don’t realize what we have until we lose it; or get it back!
